The Malek Academy opened its doors to the first intake of 30 pupils today.
Chairman Derek Chappell said, "This is a moment that I have been eagerly looking forward to since I agreed to commit $US2m of my own money to commence the re-construction of the Malek Academy.
"It has been a long and sometimes difficult journey to get to this point in time and it is very emotional to see the first pupils in their new Academy uniform.
"I feel a great sense of pride and excitement and would like to thank all those people who have contributed to making this much needed project a reality.
"I look forward to the continued growth of the Academy and hope to develop an educational facility of which people of all backgrounds and cultures across South Sudan can be proud and from which children can gain a life changing experience.
"Clearly I am going to need financial assistance from governments and charitable organisations to fully realise all my ambitions for the Academy, but I am more determined than ever to succeed."
On the day the Academy opened it was also confirmed that Bol Arok has become the fifth member of the Academy staffing team and will teach arts subjects.
