Student Blog: Achiek Kueth
It hard like searching for gold in thorns and thistles of rocky land but our concern people made it simple like drinking of water when very thirsty.
My school Malek Academy was in Bor which has become a battle field for South Sudanese politicians who want to strive for leadership through power struggle. This problem came to it presence unfortunate where people escape from Bor to areas of safety, of course, at that point the hope of going back for studies were lost. I did not know at that moment whether I will study again. The crisis has impacted negatively on school but the administration and donors took it upon to secure a teachers' college facility from the government in Juba. Our studies and boarding have cost the school more than gold, therefore, putting it in a very unstable financial situation. However, the school has not stop it commitment to bring us up regardless of its financial problems.
At our new school, life is a bit harder than in the previous school. There's almost change in everything including accommodation (leaving in one hall with teachers), learning, health situation and feeding. But if the supporters of the Academy still have a capacity, we want to back to our school in Bor once the security improves in Jonglei State.
God bless you all for keeping us in school!
