Upcoming visit to the Academy
A team of five from the UK intends to spend time working with the teachers and pupils whilst also examining the development of the most recent buildings at the school.
Derek Chappell, the main funder of the project, is taking the trip to see how his support of the school is working on the ground and meet with local stakeholders to help protect the future of Malek.
Bill Flynn, a civil engineer who has been involved from the beginning of the project will report on the progress of the construction on site.
James Cunningham will be there to give expert advice on first aid at the school. As a member of staff within the ambulance service, he will be providing the teachers with advice on how to deal with medical issues as the school is based so far from the closest medical facilities.
Walter Boyle, Deputy Principal at Wymondham College in Norfolk, will be working directly with management and teaching staff of the Academy and will advise on curriculum, teaching and learning. He will also provide training to staff on issues relating to boarding.
Ben Tegg will be joining the group to support the trip.
