You can make a difference
The initial intake of 32 pupils to the Malek Academy made their way home at the end of their first term yesterday and plans are already under way to recruit the second intake of pupils when the new term starts on 24th January 2011.
The Academy is looking for individuals, trusts or companies to sponsor an individual class so that the expansion of the Academy can proceed more quickly than originally planned. To receive further details of this opportunity to make a real and positive change to the lives of young people in South Sudan please contact Peter Varney on 0208 462 1907.
Chairman Derek Chappell said, "The maximum capacity of the Academy is 400 pupils and it is important that we grow from where we are now in a controlled and progressive manner.”
"I have committed $US2 million of my own resources to get the Academy built and open and now I need the support of other individuals, trusts and companies to help me move the Academy to the next level and to build an educational facility of which South Sudan and its people can be proud.”
"Education is the key to improving the lives of people in an impoverished country like South Sudan and helping the country to develop organically and I would urge any individual, trust or company to help me make a difference."
